PACE for Airports

Airports face major challenges in reporting Scope 3 emissions from flight operations because the process is highly complex and resource-intensive. It requires detailed aircraft movement data combined with fuel modelling tools and appropriate emissions factors to calculate Landing and Take-Off (LTO) and Full-Flight emissions. Due to this complexity, most airports conduct emissions analysis as an annual retrospective exercise rather than an ongoing management program. This lack of real-time integration means many airports miss opportunities to embed carbon-based KPIs into sustainability planning. For example finance arrangements that could unlock cheaper credit terms based on improved carbon performance.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive flight tracking that automatically records flight movements
  • Localized data analysis across full flight cycles or specific phases (LTO, taxi, cruise climb, descent) per ICAO 9889 standards
  • Operational insights on total movements, operator summaries, aircraft types, taxi times, aircraft age and airline emissions profiles
  • Forward-looking analysis including insights into SAF usage and alignment with science-based carbon pathways
  • Data driven decision-making through a carbon lens for areas such as route planning

How PACE works

How PACE works

PACE for Airports streamlines Scope 3 emissions reporting by automatically collecting flight data and calculating the emissions of the airport’s flight operations. PACE’s methodology meets Airport Carbon Accreditation’s requirements for ACA Levels 3 to 5, with fuel burn modelled per aircraft type and engine on wing. By leveraging satellite and transponder data, including gate to gate and airport-specific Landing & Take-Off (LTO) timings, PACE delivers accurate LTO and Full-Flight emissions data for every airport worldwide. PACE removes the dependency on airlines or fuel providers for data, enabling airports to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements with confidence, precision, and efficiency.
